CHITWAN, March 7: Four people, including the driver, were killed and one injured after an auto-rickshaw overturned in Kalika Municipality-9 of Chitwan on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred at around 5:00 PM along an inner road section at Dabyatar when an auto-rickshaw (Ba Pra 06–001 Ha 0315) travelling from Urpadangadhi to Shaktikhor went out of control and plunged into a roadside drain.

According to police, the deceased have been identified as Purna BK, 39, the driver from Rapti Municipality-9; Bishnu Kumari Tamang, 56, of Rapti-8; Bini Tamang, 22, of Rapti-9; and Tilak Tamang, aged around 55, also of Rapti-9. All four died during treatment at Old Medical College in Bharatpur.
Meanwhile, Chini Kumari Gurung, 53, of Rapti Municipality-9 sustained injuries in the incident. She is receiving treatment at the same hospital, police said.
The accident site lies about 12 kilometres north of the Jutpani Police Post. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
