Though the party had announced on Tuesday to submit resignation of all its six lawmakers, only Laxman Lal Karna, Bimal Kumar Kediya, Shail Kumari Devi and suspended lawmaker Sanjay Kumar Sah submitted their resignations on Sunday.According to Karna, lawmaker Madhvi Rani is unwell while Narsingh Chaudhary is outside Kathmandu Valley but the two will also submit their resignations soon. On behalf of Sah, Karna submitted the resignation to the CA chairman since Sah is in jail on the charge of masterminding a bomb attack in Janakpur in 2011.
Exiting the CA chairman's chamber after submitting the resignations, Karna said that they were forced to resign as the major parties conspired against the people of Madhes, Tharuhat, indigenous communities and women.
"We cannot cling on to our CA seat when people are dying on the streets," reiterated Karna.
According to Karna, Chairman Nembang requested them not to take "the harsh decision of resigning from the CA" but continue their struggle from within CA. "He suggested to us not to resign but we reiterated that the party has already decided to quit the CA and informed him that we are firm on our decision," said Karna.
Meanwhile, CA Chairman Nembang said that he has urged the prime minister and other top leaders to discuss the issue with the party. "This is not a good sign. I have requested them to do a rethink. The CA Secretariat will look into the resignations in line with Interim Constitution and other regulations," said Nemabang.
Though the party had announced to submit a collective resignation, the lawmakers have submitted the resignations on the individual basis.
