The 55-year-old Bhatta was killed while sleeping at his house at Malakheti VDC-2, police said. His body bears deep cuts and gashes as if due to attack by sharp weapons.[break]
Police have arrested Janaki Malasi, a resident of the same locality, and his three sons on suspicion of Bhatta´s killing.
Bhatta was elected the VDC Chairman twice on a Nepali Congress ticket in the local body elections. Malakheti is about 21 kilometres from Dhangadhi.
