KATHMANDU, NOv 25: Nepali private sector has urged the government to immediately form a taskforce to identify, analyze and resolve current issues.

In a meeting with Minister for Finance Bishnu Poudel on Tuesday, presidents of three bodies representing private sector -- Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) -- suggested including secretaries of Finance, Industry, and Commerce and Supplies ministries in the taskforce.
They also urged Minister Poudel to announce economic emergency in the country and increase participation of private sector in supply of essential goods in the market.The team also asked the government to do the needful for waiving of demurrage and detention charges of goods and raw materials stocked in dry ports.
They have also urged the government to hold meaningful talks with agitating parties in Tarai to end the ongoing stalemate.
