FNJ demands timely payment of salaries for journalists

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) on Thursday expressed serious concerns over complaints about journalists from various media houses not being issued their pay for months.



“We are concerned over complaints and fact that journalists working for some media houses, especially the Televisions, have not received their salaries for the last three to nine months, “ the FNJ said in a statement after a meeting today. [break]



Warning that the FNJ would be forced to take a stern measure, the the Nepali journalists´ umbrella organization said a team comprising its representatives and other stakeholders will monitor media houses before Dashain to see if the working journalists are paid their salaries and other financial perks before the festival.
