FNCCI team meets JITCO officials<br/>Global Bank in Dhulabari

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: A high-level Nepali business delegation has asked officials of Japan International Training and Co-operation Organization (JITCO) to increase the opportunities to Nepali workers to work at Japan´s business enterprises. [break]



The delegation, led by Kush Kumar Joshi, president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), held talks with Shotaro Tochigi, president of JITCO, and Kensuke Tsuzuki, senior vice president of JITCO, in Japan, states a press release issued by the FNCCI.



Saying that experience gained by Nepali trainees in Japan is will be significant for Nepal, Joshi appreciated JITCO´s cooperation in enhancing skills of Nepali trainees. The visiting Nepali delegation also held talks with officials of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), including its president Yasuo Hayashi, and apprised the latter of ´One Village One Product´ programs being run in Nepal to boost commercialization in agriculture.





Global Bank in Dhulabari



KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Global Bank Limited (GBL)´s new branch in Dhulabari of Jhapa started its operation from Wednesday. The bank also plans to provide ATM service from the branch within a few days. According to a press statement issued by the bank, the bank is also planning to extend its network to Dhapasi and Thamel in Kathmandu soon.



The bank, which recently signed a deal with Nepal Telecom to make payments of NT´s PSTN (or landline) and mobile phone bills through different channels of the bank, said it also preparing to provide other payment services for its clients.



The payment channels include payment through the bank´s counters and internet banking service for paying PSTN bills and mobile phone bills. Mobile phone bills can also be paid from the individual client´s mobile phone set, the bank said.





Jagadamba´s festive offer



KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Jagadamba Cement Industries is offering bikes to lucky customers during this festive season.



According to a statement issued Wednesday, the company has launched the Jagadamba Dashain Tihar Shuva Sait-Mega Offer Bike Nai Bike scheme for its customers. Buyers of Jagadamba cement will get a scratch card during purchase of every 50 bags of Jagadamba, Ultra and Force cements of the company.



Apart from Honda Shine motorcycles for an undisclosed number of customers, Jagadamba is offering 28-inch LCD TV sets, refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, 14-inch TV sets, mobile phone sets and rice cooker from Konka; and dry iron, jacket, wall clock and cash prizes of Rs 1,000, Rs 500 and Rs 200 and Rs 100.
