Five Royal Bengal tigers found in Banke National Park

KHAJURA (Banke), Oct 18: Five Royal Bengal tiger have been found in the Banke National Park (BNP), according to a data released by the park lately.

The park was established, on 12 July, 2010, to conserve the Bengal tigers in particular.


Besides, the park also has objectives of conserving endangered species of wild flora and fauna and their habitat, promoting eco-tourism, facilitating buffer zone for resource management, livelihood promotion, income generation and community development activities and strengthening trans-boundary biological corridor.

The park spreading on 550 square kilometers area, is home to 124 types of vegetations, 32 types of mammals, more than 300 bird species, 58 types of fishes, 22 types of reptiles and six types of amphibians among others. RSS
