Of the injured, six are reported to be in critical condition. According to Area Police Office, Muglin, only two deceased -- Jhamendra Niraula, 22 and Prem Kala Shrestha, 23 -- of Tehrathum district have been identified so far. The identity of another woman and two other men killed in the accident have not been ascertained yet, said sub-inspector Rohit Kumar Dulal. [break]
The passenger bus, Ba 2 Kha 9887, broke through the guard rail before falling 50 meter down into a stream along the Muglin-Narayangadh road section. Police informed that four passengers died on the spot while one died while being rushed to the hospital.
“The over-speeding broke through the guard rail and fell into the stream. It was really frightening scene,” said Dulal.
Passengers said the accident occurred as the driver was exhausted after driving a long distance alone. Nepal Police, Nepali Army and Armed Police Force jointly carried out the rescue operation.
The UCPN Central Committee leader Ram Bahadur Bohara, who is among the injured passenger, was sent to Kathmandu of treatment while others are receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
