Separate law needs to be drafted to guide agriculture cooperative and saving and loan cooperative, he said while inaugurating the third general assembly of Nepal Agriculture Cooperative Central Association.
The present law is not enough for the development of agriculture cooperative, he said, adding that there is an increasing trend of switching to other non-agriculture profession from agriculture profession.
After five generations, he said, the country is face shortage of farmers, stressing on the need for modernisation of agriculture. If the agriculture sector is developed, one family alone can earn Rs. 200,000 monthly, he said.
Saying that Nepal is importing mutton worth Rs. 15 billion yearly, he said that budget of Rs. 1 billion has been set aside in this fiscal year´s budget to be self-reliant on meat.
