Fighting child sex abuse

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Voice of Children (VOC) is organizing a ‘Street Drama against Child Sexual Abuse’ campaign which is to be held in many parts across the country. VOC, a non-profit organization, is aiming to support and rehabilitate street children through educational and vocational training opportunities and health services and is undertaking this campaign in coordination with Nepal Tourist Police.



“With the rising increases of sexual abuse in Nepal, it is important to spread awareness among people and start the education from a very early age. With this in mind, VOC is undertaking an initiative in coordination with the Nepal Tourist Police to organize the street drama against sexual abuse all over Nepal,” stated the press release.[break]



The five day campaign is scheduled from January 11 to 15 and will cover Bharatpur and Nawalparasi on its first day, Butwal-Bhairawaha-Rupandehi and Kapilwastu on the second, Palpa and Burtung on the third, Pokhara on the fourth and the team is scheduled to arrive in Dhading on the fifth and the final day.



Children from Children Home in Pokhara are also going to participate in the drama.
