JANAKPUR, Jan 31: The health conditions of Constituent Assembly member and Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) leader Ganesh Nepali and Nepali Congress (NC) leaders Suresh Pandey and Baiju Mandal, who have been on a fast-onto-death since Wednesday in Jaleshwar, Mahottari disrict, have become critical. The three embarked on the fast to protest the government´s attempt to shift the Integrated Service Center from Jaleshwar to Bardibas.

According to Dr Abdhesh Kumar Mishra, medical superintendent at Mahottari District Hospital, their conditions have become quite critical.

But they are not ready to take even glucose and water. “I am ready to die but I will not break my fast until the government corrects its anti-Madhes decision,” said CA member Nepali.

Their families and political party leaders are worried about their deteriorating health. The authorities, however, have not taken any initiative to address their demand.

Meanwhile, daily life in Jaleshwar, district headquarters of Mahottari, was crippled for a 15th consecutive day Saturday as local markets and public utilities remained totally closed and vehicles remained off the roads.
