As per the charge sheet, the family members had burnt Bindu alive for falling in love with a boy from the same VDC. "The family members killed her as they feared losing their reputation," informed Ramnath Ghimire, Police Inspector at the District Police Office in Bara.
The police had detained the father and the uncle of the victim for interrogation. The investigation showed that the uncle had assisted in erasing evidences, the police said.
The charred remains of Bindu was found in a field some 100 meters away from her house on December 27.
