English by Radio Program in five districts

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: A weekly English program produced by the US Embassy in association with the Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association (NELTA) was aired from Saturday on five different radio stations. The English by Radio Program will reach listeners in 60 districts of the country. The program will have 52 episodes and the objective behind it is to help improve the English language of Nepali students and teachers.



Peter W Bodde, American ambassador to Nepal, spoke during the first episode of the program, answering questions and talking about the importance placed by the US government on the quality of English language teaching in Nepal. [break]



Students and teachers can tune in to the following radio stations to listen to the English program.



Nepalbani FM (94.9 MHz), Ilam: 8:00pm on Friday



Sindhuligadhi FM (92 MHz), Sindhuli: 8:15pm on Friday



Radio Sagarmatha FM (102.4 MHz), Kathmandu: 9:15pm on Friday and Sunday



Krishnasar (94 MHz), Nepalgunj, Banke: 8:00pm on Friday



Fulbari FM (93.2 MHz), Tikapur, Kailali: 7:30pm on Friday
