Similarly, the hoteliers have provided services to the tourists by waiving the service charges by 15 per cent on the occasion of Christmas.
Hoteliers Damodar Regmi said over 1,000 tourists are residing in 70 plus hotels in Sauraha lately.
He said more tourists are likely to visit from today, thanks to the Elephant Festival and International Elephant Race Competition.
Football game of elephant´s calves, elephant beauty contest and elephant race would be conducted.
Ten different teams from Nepal, the UK, China, Germany, Brazil and other countries would participate in the competition.
Coordinator of the Festival, Narayan Bhattarai said a rally would be organized prior to the elephant race in Sauraha.
