Election of Vice-President rescheduled

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: The date of election for the post of the Vice-President fixed for October 28 has been rescheduled for 11:00 am on October 31, according to a press statement issued from the Legislature-Parliament.

The Legislature-Parliament stated that Speaker Onsari Gharti has rescheduled the date and time for the election of the Vice-President citing special reason.As per the fresh notice, time has been fixed for 11:00 am to 1:00 on October 30 to field the nomination for the post of the Vice-President if consensus was not forged and the name list would be published at 1:30 pm on the same day. Likewise, time has been fixed till 2:30 pm on October 30 to withdraw the candidacy.

Similarly, the final name list of the candidates would be published at 3:00 pm while secret voting would be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday.

The Legislature-Parliament said that the result of the vote would be submitted to the Speaker at 4:45 pm and the Speaker would announce the result of the election at 5:00 pm in the Legislature-Parliament. RSS
