According to sub-inspector at Area Police in Gajuri, Chandra Bahadur Silwal, Police Sub Inspector (SI) at Area Police office in Gajuri, the deceased elderly had deep cuts in her right shoulder. Silwal said the nature of the injury indicates she was attacked with some sharp weapons. [break]
The police have yet to identify the murderer. Chandra Bahadur, who ran to the police post seeking help, said that he escaped the attack by jumping out of the window.
Silwal informed that Chandra Bahadur had seen a fat man entering the cow shed they were living in. “The man carrying a torch started to attack us without any warning. After being injured in the attack, I jumped out of the window but could not recognize the assaulter. Later, I found my wife had been killed,” Silwal quoted Chandra Bahadur, who is undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu, as saying.
Buddimaya´s dead body was found in the backyard 10 meter from the house. A pall of gloom has descended on the village after Buddimaya´s death. Buddimaya was a noted social activist in her community. She was also the chairperson of Aaama Samuha (mother´s group) in her village. Police said investigation into the murder is on.
