Elderly donates Rs 213,000 to school

BAGLUNG, Aug 6: An elderly woman has donated Rs 213,000 to Khadangdevi Secondary School at Dagatumdada VDC in the district. Narmaya Thapa, 75, from Dagatumdada VDC-5 made the contribution for upgrading the school to higher secondary level.



This is the highest amount the school has received in donation from the VDC.[break]



"There were no schools in our time, so I could not go to school. I don´t want my grandchildren to face the same problems," said Thapa explaining why she gave donation to the school. She had sold a piece of land to arrange the money.



"We collected around Rs 500,000 through donations and have upgraded the school to higher secondary level," the school´s principal, Bhed Prasad Pokharel, said.
