Speaking at an interaction organized by Administrative Court and the Ministry of Local Administration on Friday, he said independence of judiciary is an essential component of governance.[break]
The main responsibility of judiciary administration is to control the government from working arbitrarily, he said, adding that people’s will have access to justice only when the civil service becomes fair, responsible, profession and honest.
At the program, Minister for Law and Justice Prabhu Sah said it was unfortunate that the judiciary system hasn’t seen much progress despite political change in the country. The judiciary sector hasn’t been effective because of the present transition, he said.
Bureaucracy is mainly responsible in this transition period and all should uphold the country’s laws, he said.
Similarly, Secretary of Ministry of General Administration Pratap Kumar Pathak said the tendency of protecting anarchy in the name of political consensus is challenging the administrative tribunal, adding that political interference should be ended at the earliest.
