The two organizations would often come under criticism for their failure to publish and distribute textbooks on time in the past.
Organizing a press conference at the ministry in the Capital on Tuesday, Minister Pokharel asked Anil Kumar Jha, managing director of the JEMC, to accelerate preparations to public the textbooks to avert shortage of textbooks this year.
He also warned of handing over responsibility of the publication of the textbooks to private companies in case both JEMC and SP failed to make available textbooks on time.
"State sectors should be strengthened and they should be operated in a new way. But, private companies could be invited to publish textbooks in case the authorized companies fail to do so on time," he said.
On a different context, Minister Pokharel also directed concerned authorities not to admit those failing to meet criteria to study Bachelor of Medicine\ Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
He also said that initiations are underway not to affect the studies of children in the agitation-hit Tarai.
Likewise, Pokharel said that fuel would be provided to schools so that the upcoming School Leaving Certificate examinations would not be affected due to the fuel crisis across the country, following the unofficial blockade by India.
He also said that those educational institutions operating without permission would be booked and that zero tolerance against corruption would be adopted. RSS
