EC recognizes MPRF-R, FSP

KATHMANDU, Aug 4: The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday decided to register Madhesi People´s Right Forum-Republican (MPRF-R) and Federal Sadbhawana Party (FSP).



Co-chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta had split the mother party on May 23 to form MPRF-R while former general secretary of Sadbhawana Party (SP) Anil Kumar Jha had split the party on July 19 to form FSP. [break]



Jha expressed happiness over the EC´s decision. He, however, said he has not been formally informed about the EC decision.



Meanwhile, SP vice-chairman Laxman Lal Karna has taken a strong exception to the EC decision. “The EC has taken a wrong decision,” added Karna.
