Dahal said this after his meeting with Chief Election Commission Nilkantha Upreti today. "The chief election commissioner has assured that the EC will take a decision soon regarding the resumption of voter registration process after determining if it is possible to make any changes in the election schedule," a source close to Dahal quoted him as saying. The source further said the leaders had also discussed the issue at the High Level Political Committee meeting held earlier in the day, prompting Dahal to take up the issue during his meeting with the EC chief. The EC had launched a drive for registering voters´ name with photograph across the country till the second week of July. Of late, Madhes-bsed parties have been demanding more time for updating the electoral roll after the EC data showed that the number of voters have decreased in comparison to the last CA elections.
