CHAUTARA, Sept 20: Sunday’s earthquake has caused damage to all the 79 VDCs of Sindhupalchowk district.
The largest number of houses damaged were in Syaule VDC where nine houses collapsed in Ward No.6 and 8, and altogether 85 houses were damaged either whole or part in the district, the District Police Office said.
A primary school has been damaged in Helambu VDC and reports on other damages of houses has been pouring in, said the police. But no human loss has been reported.
The trend of filing applications for relief has been increased from the persons with damaged houses, police said.
Meanwhile it also completely damaged at least half a dozen Police Offices and around two dozen police offices in Mechi zone have minor damages.
The tremor damaged more offices in Taplejung, Panchthar and Ilam districts, according to Mechi Zonal Police Office, Bhadrapur.
Out of 12 police offices in Taplejung, five offices in Siwa, Sinam, Lelep, Khebang and Sablakhu were completely damaged and seven others have minor damages.
Similarly, Police Posts in Ranke and Phalaicha of Panchthar were completely damaged and two others have minor damages.
Rakse based Police Post in Ilam was also completely destroyed and other five police offices have minor damages.
In Jhapa, a total six police offices including the wall of the kitchen of the security guards in the District Police Office, Jhapa, have minor damages.
