KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Dr Govinda KC, a senior professor at the Institute of Medicine (IoM), submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Monday, to remind the PM about the past agreements reached between him and the government on implementing the Mathema task force report.
A rally led by Dr KC, comprising of medical students pursuing MBBS and MD/MS degrees at the IoM, started at 7:30 am from the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), had reached the PM's official residence at Baluwatar at eight O'clock.

Dr KC met with PM Koirala and explained the cause for which he has been risking his life. "I met with PM Koirala and drew his attention to the past accords and the suggestions of Mathema taskforce," Dr KC said.
He informed that PM Koirala listened to his complaints and said that he is willing to implement the past agreements and follow through on the Mathema task force suggestion.
Medical students as well as supporters of Dr KC also briefly staged a sit-in before PM's official residence in the morning.
Dr KC has staged fast-unto-death seven times in the past demanding implementation of the deal reached between him and the government and and Mathema Task force report which suggests measures to reform the country's medical education sector.
