Superintendent of Police (SP) Nar Bahadur KC, chief of the DPO, informed that they have launched a dedicated operation to arrest the fugitives who had remained at large for a very long time. The arrests were made under the "Vigorous Operation" of the DPO, which was launched just 13 days ago."The district court had slapped the convicts with various charges years ago but they had remained absconding since then," said SP KC, adding that most of them were arrested from their own houses. "We will continue search operation for the remaining fugitives," he further added.
DSP Om Bahadur Rana Magar, spokesperson of the DPO, said that the operation is running very effectively. "We have managed to arrest a dozen of absconding criminals within a short duration under the operation," said DSP Rana Magar.
Among the arrestees are Ranji Devi Chaudhary, 65, Dev Narayan Chaudhary, 46, Jibendra Chaudhary, 35, Shivendra Chaudhary, 40, and Debila Chaudhary, 33, all of whom are from of Triyuga Municipality-10, according to DSP Rana Magar. Likewise, Bal Kumar BK, 38, of Trinapa-15, and Latte Raut of Trinapa-1 were arrested for cases related to forestry on Monday.
According to SP KC, many of the arrested had been absconding for over 20 years. "Our list also includes those who have remained at large for 40 years for various charges. We have initiated the operation as per the name lists provided by the district court," he further informed.
The district court had written a letter to the DPO to arrest various criminals who had been at large for years and to take action against them accordingly.
