Stating democracy does not refer to freedom to infringe on others´ rights, he said Nepalis should be more civilized. “Even the US and European countries are democratic countries, but people there are not as rowdy,” Gachchhadar said.
Kush Kumar Joshi, immediate past president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), said increasing incidents of extortion in the pretext of raising funds for political parties have threatened the business community.
“Threats issued by political cadres to businessmen and warnings to cause damage to properties in case of failure to make so-called donations have instilled fear in the business community,” he said. “Strict action should be taken against such people in spite of their affiliation to political parties.”
Chamber Guest House inaugurated
DHARAN: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar on Monday inaugurated Chamber Guest House constructed by the Sunsari Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) on the occasion of SCCI´s 32nd Annual General Meeting.
According to Yugal Kumar Shrestha, coordinator of the construction committee, the guest house with 5 rooms was constructed with an investment of Rs 4.2 million. All the rooms in the guest house have attached bathroom.
Shrestha informed that the guest house was constructed with funds raised from different individuals and organizations.
