POKHARA, Aug 11: After two weeks of strike, Manipal Teaching Hospital has resumed its services following three-point agreement between agitating doctors and the hospital administration on Friday evening.

Agitating doctors agreed to call off their indefinite strike as the hospital administration agreed to increase salary of the doctors after a marathon meeting held at Kaski District Administration Office yesterday evening.[break]

“We have decided to return to the work after the administration agreed to adjust the salary scale and increase it by 15 per cent,” said, Deepak Koirala, a doctor at the hospital.

Earlier, agitating doctors had refused to accept the hospital´s decision to increase the salary by 12 per cent.

Doctors had been halting the OPD services at the hospital since July 25 demanding a 20 per cent raise in their salaries.
