As per the health centre´s attendance record, Dr Prem Shah, Head of the Health Centre, was found coming to work on alternate days and the other two - Dr Bishnu Pandey and Dr Sahinaj Anssari had the least attendance.
Both the irregular doctors had joined the health centre in September.
“I have informed both the doctors to come for work regularly, but they have not heeded my requests,” said Shah
who claimed to works on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday of the week.
Moreover, the monitoring team of Kavre District Health Office also blamed the duo of falsely adding extra days to their attendance record. “We have come to know that they made changes in the attendance record,” said Dr Arjun Sapkota, Chief of Kavre District Health Office.
“The services were regular when a health assistant was appointed as the head of the health centre. Now when we have three doctors, the situation has worsened more than ever,” said Indra Prasad Adhikari, officer at the Management Committee of the health centre. He is also the administrative officer at Panauti Metropolitan Office.
“Because of the lack of doctors, patients are compelled to come to Dhulikhel Hospital, about 12 kilometers from the health centre,” he added.
