Taking part in the discussion, UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Nanda Kumar Prasai said the budget should address the fundamental needs of people including food, shelter and clothing including education and health.[break]
Prasai said the budget should emphasize to strengthen the planned development and Democracy.
He suggested that the new budget should bring program to set up a factory for producing compost manure in the country.
Former finance minister and Nepali Congress leader Ram Sharan Mahat said this budget lacks priorities and theory of economy and warned of capital flight due to lack of the investment friendly environment in the country.
He said the budget has no plan to encourage more investments and to cope with energy crisis and stop high inflation. Mahat asked the government to increase investments in productive sectors as foreign currency reserves was deceasing in the country.
