Coordinator of the discharged Maoist former combatants, Sagar Limbu said that the party offices of the major political parties have been picketed as the government and these parties were not positive regarding addressing their demands.

Limbu said that the party offices of the Nepali Congress, the CPN (UML) and the CPN-Maoist were picketed for one hour today in connection with their protest programmes.

CPN-Maoist chairman Mohan Baidhya told the discharged Maoist former combatants who had reached the party office for the sit-in that the demands they have raised were appropriate and pledged to provide support to have them fulfilled.

The disqualified Maoist former combatants have demanded, among other things, that the disqualified tag given them be removed, financial package commensurate with that given to combatants who retired voluntarily be provided to them and the details of the expenses made in the name of the discharged combatants through the United Nations Peace Fund be made public.

The discharged Maoist former combatants have been holding a sit-in at the UCPN (Maoist) main office at Parisdanda since November 28 calling that their demands be addressed.
