According to the District Public Health Office, Kapilvastu, the number of people suffering from the disease has crossed 450.
Wards no. 3, 4, 6 and 9 of Shivagadhi VDC have been affected by diarrhea, the health authority said.
In a bid to control the disease, the health office has been treating patients setting up health camps at some of the diarrhea-hit villages. Among the areas under diarrhea grip, ward no 3 is the worst hit.
Health workers blame dirty water and poor sanitation for causing diarrhea, which is mainly caused by bacterial and viral infections.
