Organizing a press conference in the capital on Tuesday, president of the club Manbir Chhantyal said the tournament will feature 10 teams, including six time champion Gyanu Baba of Pokhara.[break]
Similarly, Fishtail Academy and Tops School of Pokhara and Chandeshwori Youth Club will also compete in the event. Similarly, Angel Heart School, New Diamond Academy, Bijeshwori School, Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police Club will participate as teams from the capital.
The venue of the tournament is yet to be confirmed.
All the teams need to play 18 matches in the event to be held on double round robin basis for about two weeks. The organizer will provide Rs 46,000 to the participating teams from outside the capital.
Meanwhile, Kumar Rai, the founder principal and coach of New Diamond Academy handed over volleyball to Chhantyal during the same function.
The winner and the runner up will bag a purse of Rs 220,000 and Rs 110,000 respectively. The second runner up will bag Rs 55,000. The expected cost of the event is Rs 2.7 million.
