Dhital, Shrestha win three gold each

KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Shreya Dhital of Lincoln School and Banin Sensha Shrestha of Golden Gate won two individual gold medals each and their respective 4X50 medley relay event in the opening day of the 12th LA Inter School Swimming Championship. Oshina Bharati of St Mary´s High School and Anjalee Syangbo of The British School also clinched two individual gold medals each.



Dhital clocked 1 minute 26.54 seconds to win gold in 100m individual medley in the category of 15 years and above age group of girls. Lily Colston of The British School and Ellie Debontoli of KISC finished the second and third in the event. [break]



Dhital completed 50m butterfly in 37.20 second to claim the gold in her event. Debontoli and Johanna Whiteside of the host Little Angels School remained in the second and third place respectively.



Dhital, who finished third in the 50m backstroke of her age group, teamed up with Clara Fields, Natalia Behrang, Sofia, Shah and her sister Aditi Dhital for Lincoln School and won gold in girls´ 4X50m medley relay. The British School and KISC remained in the second and third place respectively.



Shrestha clocked 1 minute 11.38 second to finish 100m individual medley event on top in the category of 15 years and above age group of boys while he completed 50m breaststroke of the age group on the pole position with a timing of 35.15 second.



Shrestha then joined Miraj Prajapati, Jayant Prakash Gurung, Yuvraj Tamang and Tshering Finjo Tamang for Golden Gate and won 4X50m medley relay with a timing of 2 minute 14.91 second. Little Angels and Shuvatara School finished on the second and third positions respectively.



Syngbo clinched the gold in 50m breaststroke event of girls´ 11-12 years age group. She took 43.66 seconds to win the gold. Syangbo then left her competitors behind in the 50m butterfly event of her age group. She has completed the event in 44.24 seconds.

In 10 years and under age group of girls, Oshina Bharati secured two gold medals. Bharati clocked 22.50 seconds in 25m breaststroke and 17.47 seconds in 25m butterfly to secured the gold medals.



Likewise, Aashish Khadka of Unique Model Academy stood on the top of the victory stand in 25m breaststroke of 10 years and under age group of boys while Mukesh Rai of the host Little Angels remained on the top of the 50m breaststroke of the boys´ 11-12 years age group.



Sonira Bista of Baba Boarding clinched gold in 50m breaststroke event of girls´ 13-14 years age group as Manish Chitrakar of HIMS finished on top among the boys´ 13-14 years age group in 50m breaststroke event.



Lily Colston won 50m breaststroke of the girls´ 15 years and above age group while Pasang Sherpa won 25m butterfly event of boys´ 10 years and under age group.



Dipen Rana of LA clinched gold in 50m butterfly event of girls´ 11-12 years age group as Sofia Shah of Lincoln School stood on the top of the victory stand in 50m butterfly of girls´ 13-14 years age group. Seung Hwi Seo of Rupy´s International School clocked 30.10 second in 50m butterfly of girls´ 13-14 years age group and claimed a gold medal in the opening day.
