Dengue patients on rise in Jhapa

BHADRAPUR, Nov 26: The number of people suffering from dengue has crossed 50 in Mechinagar Municipality in the east of the country.



The District Public Health Office, Bhadrapur confirmed that 56 dengue cases were found while examining the health of patients coming for check up at the health centres in Dhulabari and Kakadbhitta as of Sunday.[break]



Separate teams from the Department of Epidemiology and Disease Control are treating dengue patients at these health centres.



Five new dengue cases were found on Sunday alone and the district health officials project that the number of patients might climb at this rate for some days. The district health authorities have started spraying insecticides in the town area and surrounding settlements in a bid to control dengue.
