Jha begun his political carrier at a member of the Nepali Congress and had significant contribution to the political movements launched for democracy at different times in the country.
He was a patient of diabetics, high blood-pressure and respiratory problems. Jha is considered and respected as an honest and ideal personality in the Nepali politics.
Various political leaders paid last tributes to the late Jha. His last rites were performed toady as per the rituals.
He is survived by his spouse, four daughters and three sons.
