Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (Democratic), Mahantha Thakur of Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party and Rajendra Mahato of Sadbhavana Party submitted the memorandum to the prime minister.[break]
“The new constitution must define the new federal model and with clear delineation of the provinces as per the spirit of the various agreements reached between different governments and the Madhes-based parties in the past,” reads the memorandum. “We will not accept a constitution without first resolving the thorny federal issues.”
They have demanded that the government took sincere efforts toward expediting the constitution writing and peace process.
The three political parties, which have already announced not to join the new government, have criticized the secret seven-point deal reached between Khanal and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Jhalanath Khanal.
