As per the election schedule, political parties had to submit the final name list of PR candidates to the EC until 5:00 pm today. [break]
The parties were given the deadline for submitting the revised name list of proposed PR candidates to the EC till today or October 15. The political parties are learnt to have engaged in internal discussions to finalize the name of PR candidates.
The EC is expected to make public the final name list of PR candidates this evening itself. A total of 122 political parties have applied for the PR electoral system at the EC.
As per the electoral provision, there will be 335 PR seats in the next CA and these seats will be allocated to these parties as per the votes they garner across the country.
