Dailekh viral fever death toll hits 6

DAILEKH, Sept 3: The death toll from viral fever in Dailekh district reached six after the death of a three-year-old Dalit girl on Saturday.



Basanta Bishwakarma, who was suffering from viral fever for the last four days, died on Saturday in Gogonpani VDC-7 of Dailekh. Earlier, five people, including a child, had died of viral fever in just two days at Lalikanda VDC of Dailekh district. [break]



District Public Health Office of Dailekh and the Nepal Army (NA) organized a one-day health camp at Shanti Higher Secondary School in Lalikanda VDC-6 where 626 patients were provided treatment and medicines.



Dr Khagendra Jung Shahi, the Chief of the Dailekh DPHO, said more health camps will be organized in all villages affected by viral fever to prevent the diseases from spiralling out of the control.
