The government on November 18 had filed a case under the Public Offense Act against Kunwar. Following the attack, the government also formed a three-member probe committee under Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Nawaraj Dhakal, which concluded that the attack was not pre-planned but was a result of fit of anger.

The probe committee had suggested the government to charge him in accordance with the public offense act that can charge him between Rs 3,000 to Rs 28,000 or an imprisonment of six months.

Meanwhile some Nepalese from abroad have shown their interest to pay his bail amount.
