Dahal´s and Baidya´s remarks came at separate programs organized by their respective factions to mark International Labor Day on Tuesday. [break]
"I urge our comrades not to split the party and help the reactionary forces that want to see a division in the party," Dahal said, addressing an International Labor Day function, adding, "There is no alternative to party unity."

However, he accused the Baidya faction of trying to split the party, helping the reactionary forces and deviating from the party ideologically.
Baidya dismissed the charge while addressing a separate gathering of workers and laborers close to his own faction.
"We are not divisive. They [Dahal and party Vice-chairman and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai] are divisive and have abandoned the party´s ideology," Baidya said, "We are moving ahead as per the party´s policy. And we will launch a revolt as decided by the party. We will not split the party."
This is the second time the establishment and rebel factions of the Maoist party have organized separate functions on the same day. Earlier, they held separate programs to mark the People´s Movement anniversary in February.

The Baidya faction also refuted accusations by the Dahal faction that it was being dogmatic.
"We are not dogmatic; rather it is they [Dahal and Bhattarai] who are dogmatic as they want to revive the old constitution and have also revived all agreements with India which wants to see the status quo in Nepal," said General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa of the rebel faction, while addressing the function.
Thapa also dismissed allegations by the Dahal faction that the rebel faction was going to launch another guerrilla war.

"Their Goebbels-style propaganda is spreading illusion. They are doing so to create an environment for suppressing us," said Thapa, adding that such propaganda would not stop them from launching another people´s war if necessary.
