Dahal met with leaders of Rastriya Janamukti Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPPN-N), Sadbhavana Party- Anandidevi, Janata Dal, Dalit Janajati Party, Sanghiya Loktantri Manch and CPN (ML) on Thursday. “All the political parties have responded positively. They told us that they would take a formal decision on Friday morning. We are hopeful of positive results,” Shrestha said.
The RPPN stated that they would discuss the issue in the party before taking any decision. “We will come up with a decision after holding a meeting in the party,” said RPPN leader Chandra Bahadur Gurung. He said his party would lend support to the political party that stands by the cause of the national independence, peace process and constitution writing. On Wednesday, the RPP-N, which has four seats in parliament, had remained neutral.
“We are asking for your votes not on the basis of your seats, but your ideas and your nationwide organizational strength,” Gurung quoted Dahal as saying during the meeting.
President of Sadbhavana Party- Anandidevi told reporters after the meeting that her party would decide about the voting Friday morning.
The Rastriya Janamukti party has already supported the Maoist party. Similarly, CPN (ML) leader CP Mainali said his party would take a decision only on Friday. His party has nine seats in parliament.
