Dahal fails again

KATHMANDU, July 23: Chairman of Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has failed to get majority of the votes in the election just concluded in the parliament.



He got of the 241 of the votes; 113 voted against him and 218 members abstained. There were 572 members in the House.



Now the parliamentarians will decide the fate of the other candidate -- Nepali Congress´ Ram Chandra Poudel.



If there is no clear winner, the next round of election will be held on August 2.
