Stating that Nepal's transit rights as a landlocked country have been violated, Dahal said, "By denying a landlocked country its right to passage, India has made a mockery of international laws. They should immediately work to end the blockade and help to restore normalcy in Nepal." He was addressing media persons in Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday.Dahal also criticized the government of Nepal for not making adequate efforts to seek diplomatic solution to the problem. "The government has not done enough to seek diplomatic solution. Ongoing efforts are not enough, more should be done," he said.
Meanwhile, he also said that his party will have no objection if the new government is formed under the current prime minister, Sushil Koirala.
"The nation is at a critical stage. So my party will not have any objection if the government is led by Koirala or Sher Bahadur Deuba," said Dahal. "But the government should be formed through consensus," he reiterated.
Even though there was an agreement to have the next government formed under the CPN-UML, Dahal said he is now flexible on this issue as the country is in crisis.
Dahal also revealed that his party has been offered the posts of prime minister and president by other parties. "But we are not in a position to accept these posts, neither are we running after these posts. The government should be formed through consensus among the big three parties and Madhesi parties."
He stressed that the Madhes conflict should be resolved through dialogue. Dahal had reached eastern Nepal to address a party function in Itahari of Sunsari.
