CWB carried out monitoring at different children´s homes in the Kathmandu Valley last month and found that these children´s homes were operating without approval.[break]
Ram Bahadur Chand, an official at the CWB, said it was found in course of the monitoring that many children´s homes were operating without fulfilling even the minimum requirements and standards. The monitoring also found children´s homes were operated even from a single room.
Seventy to eighty per cent of the children´s homes operate in the country are in Kathmandu Valley. There are 554 children´s homes in 37 districts of the country, CWB stated.
