A single bench of the SC justice Bharat Raj Upreti issued such order in response to a writ filed against the boarding schools on Wednesday.[break]
The writ was filed demanding to stop irregularities of the boarding schools like decision of exorbitant fee hike and selling the text books from the school against the Education Act, Regulations and existing laws.
The writ filed by advocates Shree Krishna Subedi, Kapil Chandra Pokharel and Rabin Subedi has made the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education, the Curriculum Development Center, PABSON and N-PABSON as the defendants.
The writ maintains that the private schools have sold and fixed the price of school textbooks on their own though clause (4) and (8) of the Education Act 2028 B.S. states that the schools´ curriculum should be as per the government´s approval.
