Shekh Gafar and his spouse Shahanaz Begum of Baluwa tole in Akolawa VDc, Ward No. 8 died on the spot after the group comprising 10-12 persons fired recklessly reaching the house of Shekh Gafar.[break]
Two others were seriously injured in the incident and their condition is critical, according to the District Police Office, Rautahat.
Injured Shekh Shawayab and Shek Shakhina have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment, police said.
Police have arrested two persons on the charge of their involvement in the firing. The arrestees are Shekh Mobarak and Shekh Bilat of the same VDC and investigation into the case is underway, added police.
Following the incident, a large number of police personnel have been deputed in the area, the District Police Office, Rautahat, said.
