BIRGUNJ, Aug 12: Police constable Raj Narayan Chaudhary who was killed in Nijgadh, Bara, on Saturday night was killed by fellow policemen due to a personal animosity, according to the police.

SP Manoj Neupane revealed on Thursday that fellow constable at the Area Police Office, Nijgadh, Bhola Chaudhary and constable at the Armed Police Force (APF) base in Nijgadh Bajra Ratna Bajracharya were involved in the murder.[break]

Neupane said investigations showed that Bhola struck Chaudhary with khukuri and Bajracharya assisted him. Police have taken the duo under control. “We found that Chaudhary was killed due to personal animosity. We are trying to find other motives, if any, behind the murder,” he added.

Sources claimed that there can be other motive apart from personal animosity behind the killing. “Bhola and Bajracharya were involved in timber smuggling and Raj Narayan may have known about it,” a source claimed.

Raj Narayan, who worked as a driver at Area Police Office, Nijgadh, was killed near Shahid Chowk while heading to the office from his rented apartment at around midnight by slitting his throat.

Raj Narayan crawled into the office at around 12:30 am after being attacked in uniform. He was immediately taken to the National Medical College where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
