Construction of 14.6MW hydro project begins

PARBAT, April 5: Construction of mid Modi Hydro Power Project based in Deupur VDC of Parbat district has been initiated.



Himal Hydro Power and General Construction Company has been awarded with a contract to construct the project.[break]



It is said 14.6 mw of electricity will be generated from the project.



The construction cost of the project targeted to complete within two years is estimated to stand at Rs. 2.8 billion. Some 142 ropanis of land in Deupur and Bhuk Deurali has been acquired for the project construction.



Similarly, an agreement on the connection of transmission has also been made. Electricity produced form the project will be connected to 132 KVA transmission line at Modikhola (river) Hydro Power Center through around 4-km transmission line.



In the river, Modikhola Hydro Power Project having the capacity of 14.9 mw has been producing power for a decade while five projects are under-construction at present.
