KATHMANDU, Jan 8: The Election Commission (EC) has opened the window for filing complaints on Thursday against candidates contesting the National Assembly member election scheduled for January 25, in line with the election program approved by the EC.
Filing complaint against election candidate begins
According to EC Joint Secretary and Assistant Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the nomination process was completed peacefully on Wednesday at the offices of election officers in the capitals of all seven provinces.
Under the election timetable, the EC will conduct scrutiny of nomination papers and complaints on January 9 and 10 and publish the list of candidates thereafter. Candidates may withdraw their nominations on January 11, when the final list of candidates will also be made public. Election symbols will be allotted on January 12.
