Committee formed to probe Khotang bus mishap

KHOTANG, April 17: A seven-member committee coordinated by Chief District Officer, Dinesh Kumal has been formed to investigate a recent bus accident in the district that claimed lives of 25 persons.

A district-level committee was formed after a meeting of political parties, local administration, security bodies, transport entrepreneurs, victims among others.

The committee has been assigned to submit repot within a month mentioning cause of the mishap and suggestions for future.

The team comprises of Inspectors of Nepali Police, Armed Police Force and Central Investigation Bureau, engineer of District Technical Office, representative of Federation of Nepali Journalists, Khotang chapter and Milanchandra Rai from victims.

Meanwhile, a person who was injured in the mishap on Tuesday has died.

The deceased is Devraj Giri, 40, of Thanagaun-1 in Udaypur district.

According to DSP, Bidhyananda Majhi,  Giri died while receiving treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu.
