KATHMANDU, Feb 6: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Rajendra Chhetri has returned home today by wrapping up his six-day-long formal visit to India.

Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Baldevraj Mahat welcomed CoAS Chhetri at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Chhetri had left here for India on February 1 at the invitation of the Indian Army General.

During Chhetri’s trip, Indian President Pranab Mukhaerjee conferred the title of the honorary Indian General on Chhetri.

Likewise, Chhetri called on Indian Defense Minister, Home Minister and the security officials too.

It is in line with the tradition of exchanging honorary titles between chiefs of army in Nepal and India since 1950. RSS
